I purchased this for an elementary school’s annual International Night event — they have other maps but they’re smaller, badly worn, and out of date. We used transparent shipping tape to mount this map on a wall and then gave all the kids sticky note pointers for them to write their names on & place on the map as close to their birthplace as possible. Because the map is so large, almost 100 children from 19 countries were able to easily put their names on the map.This map is a lot sturdier than similar maps I’d seen (or those that the school owned) because it’s well-laminated on both sides; we expect to be using this map for International Night for years to come. It’s being stored rolled inside its cardboard shipping tube, and the only problem we encountered (aside from little kids needing help to reach the northern hemisphere!) was finding a shelf long enough to accommodate it.Several parents & staff mentioned that this was one of the best maps they had seen recently in terms of size, clarity, up-to-date borders & contry names, and physical strength of the materials; at least two families are likely to buy them for home or office use. I don’t need another map like this right now — but I won’t hesitate to buy another of these if I do!

We love this work map! I put it up in the family room/ play room so the kids would have a better idea of where we are in the world and the places we’ve traveled. It is quite huge which was exactly what I was looking for. It covers the entire wall space above our couch. I find it to be very accurate and current and while I’m not a geography expert my husband is and was impressed. The colors are great and the fact it is laminated will hopefully preserve it longer especially since the one year old has taken a keen liking to it. The only drawback is that there are no grommets to facilitate easy hanging. The best method was either lots of mounting tape or nails in the 4 corners. I opted for nails since it was easier and cheaper but regret having to put holes in the map. Otherwise we love seeing everyday and we are all getting so much better at geography! As a teacher if I had space in my classroom to hang this map I’d definitely get another one.

First and foremost there is the physical medium itself: a good, sturdy, high-grade plastic – NO flimsy paper that tears to shreds !!! Next, the map is amazingly accurate – which is ‘super hard’ to accomplish on a flat map…the world is ’round’ after all !! Then we have the beauty, the colors and last, but certainly not least, the ‘Shear Immensity’ of this map – WOW !!! I really love this map – it makes me feel like I’m part of this world after-all !!! Maybe if more people had a map like this hanging on their wall we might be a little more patient and understanding with one another – and also more compassionate for ‘Our World’ !!! TR

This map is exactly what we needed for homeschool! It’s huge, colorful, easy to read and fully laminated. It’s as physically accurate as a flat map can be and Copenhagen is IN Denmark!!! I was shocked at how many maps show the lower peninsula of Sweden as a part of Sweden ignoring international borders. It came packaged perfectly in a sturdy cardboard box. The map was wrapped in a plastic sleeve inside a thick cardboard tube with plastic caps that were very easy to remove. There is a small lip on one side of the cap, just use a screwdriver to leverage the cap off. Absolutely no wrinkles! It’s a beautiful map that will last until I have to update it.
